Christmas Decorating

Welcome to my home! I thought I'd share how I've dressed up my house inside for the holidays. You can view all the pictures larger by clicking on them.

In my living room, we have the electric fireplace. Santa will have to travel through the plug. LOL You can also see my hallway. BTW - I had to carefully step in a swampy area to get those bittersweet branches. Lot of good that did - they're already starting to shrivel. I think I might make some berries from fimo clay and glue them on. LOL My dear friend Catherine made a stocking for me one year, the second one.

Here is my tree, during the day so you can see the ornaments, and lit at night. Don't have any candy canes for it yet.

Then we have my wreath in the front windows, lit up. There's pipecleaner snowflakes on it I made.

This is the top of my entertainment center. I needed to find something that would hide as much of the old surround sound speakers as I could. So I got a cheap piece of evergreen and then tucked a garland into it. I was thinking of getting some different sized candles to go on each side but don't know if I'll get around to it this year. The little Santas are tealight holders.

This is the entry between my living room and kitchen. I've had the bell for years but I just got new garland this year and I love it.

I even put out some Christmas books on the side table.

I did a touch of decorating in the kitchen, too. Here's my table and the built-in hutch. My daughter made the wreath (I hung one my son made in my bedroom on my mirror). And the 4 of us made the snow people several years ago from socks.

And here's a couple shelves on my kitchen wall. I just tucked a few figurines up there.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my little holiday tour. Perhaps it's inspired some ideas of your own. I'll end with this little quote from one of my books:
Keeping Christmas is good, but sharing it with others is even better.

Wow Tam you've been so busy! Your house looks all warm and cosy with the decorations and your tree is so pretty!

I usually finish decorating late, then I keep it all up long after everyone has put their stuff away. One of these days I will begin earlier so when visitors come it's all nice with the Christmas glow like yours.
