Stitched journaling spots

When I saw the Cherish punch around the page set by Martha Stewart I immediately had an idea. I didn't know if I would actually get the punch, but I did! The border punch in combination with the corner punch allows you to make squares or rectangles with a bracket shaped edge. The punched holes make it so easy to add stitching. You can stitch around the outside, inside, or both! This punch set makes great journaling boxes - the guide insert tells you what size paper you need for the border punch to work with the corner. I made these journaling spots in a few sizes using the punch set and stitching the inside border holes. To cut the journaling area to fit, I measured the size of the area inside the inner border holes and took off a 1/4 inch from the length and the width. With the Martha Stewart scoring board, I scored lines 1/4 inch apart. Flip the paper over, and you will have embossed lines. I then used distress inks and/or pigment inks to blend ink over the paper giving it some color and highlighting the embossed lines. Then adhere the inked paper inside your stitched area. Have fun!
